چکیده
In inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), the presence of carbon in matrix strongly affects (positively and negatively) signal atomic lines. However, ionic lines is mostly unaffected by this concomitant. The goal work to gain insight into origin effects on ICP-OES. To end, a total 3608 (i.e., 1755 1853 lines) 62 elements (Ag, Al, As, Au, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cs, Cu, Dy, Er, Eu, Fe, Ga, Gd, Ge, Hg, Ho, I, In, Ir, K, La, Li, Lu, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Nb, Nd, Ni, P, Pb, Pd, Pr, Pt, Re, Rh, S, Sb, Sc, Se, Sm, Sn, Sr, Tb, Te, Th, Ti, Tm, U, V, Y, Yb, Zn Zr) were registered for containing solutions (20 g L?1) prepared from glycerol. Results compared those obtained operating 1% w w?1 HNO3 solution. Compared reference solution, signals Se Te increased suppression was noticed Ag, Y Zr No measurable within experimental uncertainties Gd As regards U Yb no clear conclusion about feasible due limited wavelengths monitored. Experimental results showed that intensity depends both analyte ionization energy electronic upper level involved transition. Matrix can be explained simultaneous occurrence different mechanisms: (i) charge transfer reactions; (ii) collisional ionization; (iii) excitation with carbon-based species. Because these mechanisms affect population, are more significant rather than ones. Finally, judicious wavelength selection critical minimize which most sensitive alkali elements). On regard, internal standard should consider analyte.

متن کاملMarine Sediment Analysis Using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry
Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry was applied to the determination of trace impurities in tantalum powder. The matrix effects of tantalum in the determination of trace level impurities such as Cr, Fe, Nb, Ni, and Ti were studied by measuring the intensities of each trace element in solution at various concentrations of tantalum. As the concentration of the interfering ele...
متن کاملInfluence of hydrogen gas over the interference of acids in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.
The effect of hydrogen gas on the plasma and its influence on acid interferences in plasma atomic emission spectrometry was studied. The study was performed with HCl and HNO(3) in the concentration range of 0-2 mol l(-1). Vanadium and magnesium were used as test elements, the study was extended to other several elements. The effects of hydrogen gas on the plasma were studied by measuring excita...
